I am participating in Metamorphosis Monday over at Between Naps on the Porch. Here is a table refinish that Rick and I did in the Fall.
Here is the before (we bought this table for $50 off Craigslist).
Here is the AFTER picture. We painted the base and chairs black and then I distressed it by sanding the edges. For the top, we stained it a dark espresso finish.
I have a table just like yours. I have been thinking about painting it, but have been scared to do so. Now that I know it will look fantastic black, I may just get out my paintbrush and give it a coat of paint.
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful.

ReplyDeleteI have that exact same table! We painted our whole set black too, including our table top. Wish we had stained it like yours. I wonder if the hubby would strangle me if I added it to his to-do list...haha
ReplyDeleteThis looks great, Allison! I have the same style table and chairs (my table has claw feet, and has been in the garage for the past several years), and I'm in the midst of renovating the kitchen and breakfast room. I had decided to paint another round table (also in storage) black ... it has a bronze-colored wrought iron base and a pecan wood top right now. I've been wavering between painting the chairs (just like your's) black, or finding some used chairs with upholstered seats to paint black and add new fabric, hmmm .... and now you've got me loving your two-tone table and thinking how lovely that would look, too :o) Sure with my breakfast room was a bit bigger, I'd love to have 2 or 3 round tables, sort of bistro-style ...
